Howl

Friday, March 11th, 2011

Going to the cinema this weekend?  Howl is a must see.  Named after the poem written by Allen Ginsberg in 1955 the film consists of three strands: Ginsberg talking about his life and work, the obscenity trial of the work, and an animation that echoes the surreal style of the poem which is thought to be one of the great works of the Beat Generation.  Set in 1957 San Francisco it is no surprise great 50s style frames are worn throughout by the stellar cast.

It’s totally typical that a cool classic film like the 1969 original Italian Job would feature some fantastic frames.  Check these out for a blast from the past. Roope Vintage has frames to match the look.

Michael Caine as Charlie Croker wearing a frame similar to the Black Eyewear Tatum or Chet.

And Benny Hill as Professor Peach in round metal frames similar to the NHS Oval Curl.
