Nigel Slater’s memoir Toast was recently adapted for TV and shown on BBC1. Set in 1960s Britain the drama featured iconic eyewear of the period.
His beloved mother wore subtly upswept frames while his detested stepmother was more flamboyant in her choice of dramatic cat eye glasses.
Even Nigel’s father, played here by Ken Stott, sports 1950s style frames similar to our Retro 1D TTG.
