Hunky Dory Celebrates the 70s

Looking for a feel good film that will take you back to the sights and sounds of the 70s?  Try recently released Hunky Dory in which enthusiastic drama teacher (Minnie Driver) Vivienne tries to engage her students by putting on a musical version of  Shakespeare’s The Tempest with contemporary songs.  The film also stars Aneurin Barnard and Danielle Branch whose characters play the lead in the musical and develop a budding romance.   This film will certainly put you in the mood for summer sun and features fantastic retro sunglasses.

Killer Black Eyewear

Classic Luc Besson film of 1994 Leon stars Jean Reno as an assassin, in killer shades, who looks after his orphaned twelve year old neighbor Mathilda (Natalie Portman) after her parents are killed.  Leon helps her train to take revenge on the killer of her family (Gary Oldman).  The iconic round clear crystal sunglasses Leon wears throughout the film look very similar to Black Eyewear Chico CCS.

Zoot Alors?

Photographer Perou has been at it again!  He’s mentioned his Black Eyewear Zoot frame and posted photos, on his online diary, of himself wearing the Zoot Clear Crystal Sunglasses.  He luvs them.  It is a fun word to say though isn’t it?  Zoot Zoot Zoot Alors!

Channel 4’s recent series, an adaptation of William Boyd’s best selling novel ‘Any Human Heart,’ includes appearances by Gillian Anderson and Tom Hollander as the Duke and Duchess of Windsor – just two of the many historical figures who crop up in a fictionalised context in the novel.  The couple wear some fantastic sunglasses of the period, similar to our Black Eyewear Coltrane and Toots.  If you want to recreate this stylish look go to BlackEyewear.com.
